EC155 B1

The EC155 B1 offers more cabin space, power and versatility than almost any other helicopter in its five-ton class.
Its exceptional roominess, comfort, speed and endurance make it ideal for a wide range of missions including long-haul offshore or VIP transport, EMS, SAR and Special Forces police operations.
Its powerful twin Turbomeca Arriel 2C2 engines perform beautifully in high or hot conditions and are fitted with Full Authority Digital Engine Controls (FADEC) for totally automated OEI safety. Eurocopter has integrated its latest technologies into this
new-generation aircraft.

These include exceptionally low noise and vibration levels for markedly improved flying comfort. The EC155 B1 is a fully certified Class 1 aircraft under JAR OPS 3 regulations.

The EC155 B1 is a veritable cornucopia of the latest proven technologies.

The designs for airframe and armature call for widespread use of highly resistant, corrosion-free composite materials and light alloys. Its all-composite rotors, bearingless Spheriflex main rotor head and shrouded Fenestron tail rotor combine to give it the lowest vibration and noise signature in its class.

The EC155 B1 offers exceptionally high maximum speed, long-haul range, high take-off payload and large cabin. Which is why the EC155 B1 is often the helicopter of choice for Emergency Medical, Flying Intensive-Care and Search And Rescue missions. Lightweight modular EMS and SAR equipment means you can change mission configurations quickly and easily.

The large unobstructed cabin allows room for multiple patients, medical personnel and all the material--including bulky intensive-care equipment--they will ever need. The low vibration and noise levels provide a less stressful environment for the sick and injured. For SAR missions the EC155 B1 has the reserves of power necessary for high and hot conditions. The advanced Meghas glass “censored” cockpit and 4-axis automated pilot reduce the flight crew’s workload so they can concentrate on their rescue manoeuvres.

Key features for these multi-role operations include:

  • Category A vertical capability

  • Spacious cabin
