In a move that should be great news for customers, Eurocopter Southern Africa Ltd (ESAL) ended its long search for bigger, better and more conveniently located base, with its move to Grand Central Airport located midway between Johannesburg and Pretoria. "We searched far and wide for a suitable new home where we could locate all of our services under one roof. Thanks to the efforts of Grand Central's management, we've found just the right place," ESAL CEO, Fabrice Cagnat told guests, including customers, government VIPs, industry partners and journalists, at a glittering launch at the new premises on 19 November. ESAL's previous home at Lanseria was designed for an operation with a headcount of 23 staff. As a result of its business growth, today ESAL employs more than 80 people, supporting a wide range of customers and over 230 helicopters in a region that stretches from South Africa to the Seychelles, Kenya and Angola. Eurocopter Vice President for Africa & Middle East, Xavier Hay, cut the ribbon and declared ESAL's new base open for business.
