Eurocopter Southern Africa Christmas Function 2009

December, 5th 2009 was a day that dawned with anticipation of Eurocopter's Christmas function to be held later the same day. The cloud cover threatened rain but this was not about to ruin a day that the staff had been looking forward to for months. The venue in the countryside in Pretoria was ideallic with a large lawn surrounded by beautiful green fields with grazing horses and sheep. The staff and their families were welcomed by drummers from the Nathi drumming group who added an energetic and vibrant element to the day.
 
Priceless is the only way to describe the expressions on the faces of the children as their eyes fell on the massive water slide and two smaller ones for their entertainment along with ice cream machines, candy floss machines, pony rides, a magic show and face painting. 

The welcome of the staff was followed immediately thereafter by the company awards ceremony. Each of the sixteen awards handed out was accompanied by drum beats and the clapping and cheering of family, friends and colleagues as each person was recognized and appreciated for their effort and dedication. Everyone enjoyed a sumptious lunch while relaxing and socializing under a marquee and under umbrellas on the lawn. 

Later in the afternoon, the company as a gesture to the staff and to assist them during the tough economic climate, presented each staff member with a Christmas hamper and grocery vouchers. Could this already perfect day get any better? Absolutely! With the entrance of Santa who had a photograph taken with each child and handed out gifts to the delight of the little ones.

The weather had kept its side of the bargain, the day was a resounding success!
